Yvonne (StoryLight Strings) is a new artist-songwriter, who has taken an unusual path into the music arena. Although blessed with a career in medicine, she felt called to take a side detour into the extraordinary world of music composition and production, to be able to illuminate God’s love story to His beloved through her strings.

Classically trained as a violinist, she skillfully uses her solo violin as the storyteller, while also interweaving the emotive cello amidst layers of cinematic string orchestral arrangements that she composes and plays all herself. Through her music, she shares her wish to draw people in to inspire hope and shine a light into the world through her own transformative musical journey.

The album - The Sacrificial Love Story, is a novel concept in the music space. Her songs collectively tells a longitudinal story through her strings as if it were written for a film score. It stands out in the integration of her instrumental music to an artistic drawing & lyrical poetry, creatively inspired by her song. The music, art, & poetry, collectively builds layers of sensory experiences when listening to her songs.

Yvonne invites you into a powerful experience of God’s love story, through her string work. With vision and intentionality in her composition, you can hear how she emotionally immersed herself in the stories.

Since the music is scored like a cinematic album, each emotive note drawn on the bow of her violin and cello, is made to stir up feelings and imagery of the stories that we may have heard or grew up reading in the Bible. Melodies are strategically interconnected throughout the entire album. Thus, as you listen to the whole ‘symphony’, the weaving of the string melodies and choral moments throughout the songs tell a unified story.

The creative vision of her album goes beyond the music, as Yvonne involved the work of a soulful artist (Oana Seman) and lyrical writer (Rob Beaudreault) to listen to each song and artistically interpret her music with the passage. Each piece creates a layered sensory experience that intertwines the music and Bible passage with a meaningful pairing of visual art and lyrical poetry.
